Safety within the Smurfit Kappa Group is a key priority for all
  employees, from Senior Executives to people working on the
  shop-floor.

  A safety statement and ten safety principles have been
  developed in order to establish the basic rules to be followed
  at every single site of the Group. Site Managers are
  responsible for the effective implementation of the local health
  and safety programmes, the objective being to eliminate or
  control hazards which could endanger employees, suppliers
  or visitors.

  In a manufacturing environment such as the paper industry, a
  preventive attitude prevails at every level of the organisation
  simply because it is not possible to rely on luck. Both
  individual and collective awareness are of paramount
  importance.
